Holy cow, it has been a year! Parker's first birthday was Wednesday, January 19th! We kept his actual birthday low-key with a little celebration at a local Mexican restaurant.

The rest of the week was spent organizing, crafting and baking for his party on Saturday! After MUCH deliberation, we ended up with a Cookie Monster theme! (I already have his next 2 birthdays picked out too... ha!).
Here are the invitations and an email save the date I tried to send out last minute! The mail was delayed for some reason that I do not remember now (maybe snow?) so the invitations were delayed for several days!
The cake lady did an amazing job and was very reasonable! If any one around Tullahoma needs a cake lady, let me know and I will get you her info!
Copper sporting one of the birthday hats that I fashioned for Parker (this one matched his party outfit) Unfortunately I don't think I got a picture of Parker with it on! Ha!
Here is the hat I made him to match his cake smashing outfit! Of course he decided he would not wear it while smashing the cake... but oh well :) This is him after the party eating his organic vegetable puffs... which he chose OVER birthday cake! Ha!
Parker was in a GREAT mood at his party! We thought he would be overwhelmed with the crowd (someone counted as many as 40 people there at one point), but he loved it! He ran around from guest to guest. In fact, we couldn't keep track of his little 2.5 foot self, so Jerod tied a balloon to the back of his belt loop. We just followed the little balloon bobbing around the party! One of my favorite moments of the party was when I caught Parker peeking in his gifts (notice the blue string tied to his belt loop)!
He also had lots of fun when he actually got to open all of them! He was really determined to open this one by himself.

And this is Jerod's favorite picture from the party! I think Parker thinks he is going fast on his new bike!?

We kept it pretty simple with cookies, milk and cupcakes! After picking the theme, however, I realized there was a VERY limited amount of cookie monster party supplies out there! Therefore, we had to DIY or have just about everything made!
Here was the final product!

The whole basis of the party.... I had to have these cupcakes!

As suspected, he didn't much care for the cake. He was very suspicious, and only tried a few bites! Go figure!
He was a bit curious at first...
He decided, however, he didn't like cake! Ha!
How many balloons does it take to float a chihuahua anyway?

It was a great day and we are so thankful that so many people love little Parker (okay, okay, he is not so little anymore)! He got TONS of awesome gifts! It was a fantastic day for our little guy! Thanks to everyone who made it such a special day!
Oh yeah, we can't forget to mention the after-party fun! Ashley and Heath had to go out of town, leaving little Lucy in our capable hands...
