To "Grand-pa's" house we go!

I know it has been a long time since our last post, but we have decided to jump back on the bandwagon! I am going to start with our weekend trip to Grandpa Porter's, but stay tuned for a few backdated updates (is that an oxymoron?) of the last few months as well!

This weekend, Parker took his first overnight trip to "Grand-pa Porter's" house!
We met Ben and Emily there on Friday night and spent a wonderful weekend visiting with Grand-pa and eating lots of good ole' southern yummi-ness. In fact, when we got there Friday night, he had an entire Thanksgiving spread (including his famous cornbread stuffing) in the oven... lucky us! :)

Here a few pics of Parker and Grand-pa. Park had just woken up, so he was still a little sleepy!

On Saturday, we took Parker out for a photo shoot on Grandpa's property. Parker has not had his fall pictures taken yet, so we figured we would give it a shot ourselves. Some of them turned out pretty cute! They may not be professional quality, but I still love them! Here are a few (yeah right, since when can I only share a "few" pics of my little guy?)...

The backdrop to these are a REALLY old little shed that was on the property when Grand-pa bought it. They were planning to tear it down when they prepped his land for the house, but he insisted that they keep it. I love the old building!

We took Grand-pa out for dinner on Saturday to thank him for putting up with us all weekend. Good ole' Grand-pa decided it was high time that boy had a french fry, and I am pretty sure Park fell in love at first taste. Most of you know Jerod and I are pretty picky about what we feed our little guy, but we figured that is what grandparents are for, right? I was always spoiled with junk food at my grandparents, so I only expect the same for Parker (don't get any big ideas Nana and Momma Jo!). So we thoroughly enjoyed watching Grand-pa feed Parker the little treats.

We finished up the trip by joining Grand-pa at church on Sunday where Parker insisted on singing along (even when the singing was over)! It was a great service, and we are thankful that Grandpa has found such a wonderful church.

After a quick lunch (I did mention we ate A LOT, right), and a quick visit with Grand-pa's brother and sister-in-law, we were off to Huntsville. We had a wonderful weekend, and can't wait to do it again soon!
